I think I’ll let these speak for themselves.
Magneto’s adorable tho
Does anyone else get a laugh out of those moments where your cat seems to suddenly become very suspicious of something that has never moved?
Shoogi does this a lot, especially with clothes and blankets left on the floor. At the moment she’s freaking out about my wallet that I just put on the desk.
Yes, I am thoroughly ashamed of myself that it took this long. Steph was on me for years to do it and then after she passed I just… kind of stared at the book for the last six months since, not wanting to touch it.
I read Late Eclipses, because I am apparently physically incapable of starting a book series with the first book (pretty sure it gives me a rash).
That said, I will be reading the rest of them most definitely.
Also I am in love with the Luidaeg. Completely in love.
I get such an Ursula vibe off her and I freaking love it. Pretty sure its the cranky, sometimes helpful, get-the-hell-off-my-lawn attitude. I would literally read a book that was just about her. I would read a dozen books just about her.
Off to buy the rest of them and spend my entire spending budget for October -whistles while I go-
This is why you have every right to be tired.
But the U.S. education system won’t shift its schedule because it’s literal horse shit
The US education system is about drone production, not education, so producing a large quantity of people who live in a state of near-perpetual exhaustion and assume the fault lies with them is actually an ideal outcome.
That said… I have to wonder at the long-term side effects of this as well? I know some morning people - you know the ones, up at dawn, so cheerful you think they really don’t deserve to live, those people (My Mother is one of them, gross) - but most adults I know actually run on a similar lag in the morning to teenagers. I’m left to wonder if a failure to recognize and respect the commands of the body during the developing years produces a lifelong negative impact. You’d think it would, since there are a lot of things that if fucked up during your teen years stay with you forever.
i don’t read “uwu” as a smiley face in my head i read it as “ooo woo”
it’s a smiley face?
Koalas having an argument.

A young Jewish refugee with her Chinese playmates. Shanghai, China (x)
Between 1933 and 1941, it is estimated that 20,000 Jews escaped persecution by fleeing to the Chinese port of Shanghai. Shanghai was one of the few places in the world that would accept Jewish refugees at this time, Japan being another.
i am furious that i am just now learning about this important fact.
Because it has nothing to do with the USA being the superhero and saving all the Jews
Plus it highlights the fact that the US could have taken in thousands of Jewish people fleeing Europe in the lead up to the Holocaust and during it.
But we didn’t. In fact, US immigration policy at the time pretty much explicitly barred Jewish and Eastern European immigrants as “undesirable.” The US sat by and let the extermination of ethnic groups happened because we simply didn’t fucking care. And yes, they knew it was going on. Literally everyone knew what was going on. People knew it was going to happen before it even happened. But the nations with the power to do something did not care enough to do anything.
I’m really not surprised that @fatbeautifultortoise came at me like this. When I say white people can’t be trusted this is exhibit a.
Well… that is just… one of the worst people. Sorry she came at you like that.
